Great to Be Eight...Already?!

Yes, it's true...my baby turned eight this year. Can you believe it?! I feel like there is no way he is old enough for this already. When did this happen? Anyway, he turned eight on Wednesday and was baptized on Sunday. He had both sets of grandparents here for the big day. Uncle Josh , Aunt Tressa and their clan also made the trek to show their support.

And just 'cause he is cute...super cute in his Sunday duds, here is a peek at Luke these days!

I cannot believe Ty is already eight and old enough to be baptized. He is such a good boy. He helps around the house, is a life saver when it comes to helping out with Luke, cares about other's feelings and always tries to choose the right. He has a good heart that is going to make him an amazing person. We are very proud of him and cannot wait to see the kind of man he will become!

Overflowing with the Force

So, for Halloween this year, we decided that we had to go with a Star Ward theme so Luke could be Luke Skywalker. I started looking around at how to make some costumes when a friend told me that another of our friends had dressed her Kids in Star Wars costumes the year before and that I should check with her to see what she had. Thankfully, my friend did have a bunch of costumes and was willing to let us use them. The problem was that the perfect sized costume for our little Luke was not Luke Skywalker, but Yoda instead. I got over the disappointment really quickly, though, when I saw what a cute Yoda he was.

She also let us borrow a Princess Leiah (sp?) outfit and parts to Tyson's Anakin costume. The only thing I had to come up with was something for Dal and I to wear. With my newfound sewing skills, a trip to the dollar fabric store and lots of direction from my friend, Jen, (thanks, Jen) I was able to whip up some jedi robes. I know...we were not in full costume, but it beats having nothing at all, right?

We sported our costumes at the annual Trunk-or-Treat at the church. It was chaotic, noisy and a little stressful this year, but the kids seemed to have fun.

One last picture, just for kicks...Kelsie went on her first field trip to the Avila Barn. I love going there this time of year to see all the pumpkins. Luckily, we were able to go with her class, because our schedules have been so crazy lately that we would have missed it entirely otherwise.
